Forest Park is a 5,200-acre forested preserve and is one of the largest forested urban parks in the United States. Most of the wildlife species in the park are associated with forest interior habitat. The Forest Park Wildlife Report of 2012 documented the wildlife in the Park, including bats, elk, martens, owls, woodpeckers, salamanders and many more. I will show you some of these animals, including some that might surprise you, and some you may be able to see on your next visit to Forest Park. I will also briefly touch on the issues we are facing in our goals to protect them and their habitat and talk about what you can do to help. Come join us and listen to Marshall Johnson. Natural Resource Ecologist, share with us about Forest Park!
